The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the student honorary division of EdTA (Education Theatre Association) recognizing excellence in middle and high school theatre. Membership into ITS is earned by participating in our school’s theatre program and accumulating points towards membership. In addition to the many tangible benefits, Thespians enjoy the sense of belonging and recognition inherent in being inducted into world’s largest theatre honor society. The skills that they learn from a quality theatre arts education—creativity, self-confidence, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as specific theatre skills—will benefit them in their school days and beyond. High school students who have been inducted into ITS are known as Thespians.
